And it is six days since a man, believed to be their father and her husband, was pulled from a dam on the same property the Hunt family had once happily lived.
The Lockhart community is still struggling to digest the shocking news that last Tuesday Kim Hunt, 41, and her three children, Fletcher, 10, Mia, 8, and Phoebe, 6, were discovered dead at their property, Watch Hill, on the Lockhart-Boree Creek Road.
The body of husband and father, 44-year-old Geoff Hunt, was located in a nearby dam the following afternoon.
They are all believed to have died from gunshoot wounds.
Lockhart mayor Peter Yates said yesterday their deaths had left a deep wound in the tight-knit community.
A minute of silence was held at the under 14 Hume League game over the weekend, the team Fletcher played for, while an upcoming festival in town aims to boost community spirit.
"Obviously there's the grieving period now.
"I was out there on Friday and there's action in the main street again and before that it was quiet.
"Obviously there's a deep wound there and community members are still shocked.
"The Spirit of the Land Festival in October is about the community coming together.
"There's plenty of stalls, plenty of entertainment, food, if you're artistic, plenty of opportunities to showcase.
"It's just a fun, happy day to help alleviate the pain.
"The festival will be a positive day for the community to get together."
Wagga Superintendent Bob Noble confirmed a post-mortem was conducted at the weekend and results were expected to be released during the week.
"Obviously we're continuing to liaise with the family, first of all for their welfare and for the direction and compilation of where the brief may take us," he said.
The NSW Police Homicide Squad is leading the coronial inquest, but could provide no indication when the coroner's report may be completed.
No details of the funerals have been released.
