It marks the end of a long journey towards closure for the discount variety store on Trail Street after its parent company DSG Holdings Australia fell in and out of receivership three times over five years.
The latest appointment of receivers in early July spelled the end for the Wagga store - and many more across the region with stores closing in Albury, West Wyalong, Tumut and Hay. The company owed at least $20 million to trade creditors and another $10 million in employee entitlements.
Some 25 jobs have been lost with the Wagga store closure.
Yesterday afternoon, the store was empty after the last remaining stock and fittings were removed and sold off to pay staff entitlements.
A spokesman for receiver KordaMentha last month said the company believed it would be able to pay all entitlements by the middle of this month - two weeks earlier than expected.
DSG, which had employed 2500 people nationally up to the end of June, blamed a general decline in the retail sector for its demise.
