AN UNLICENSED teenage driver allegedly hit speeds of up to 150km/h along a residential Ashmont street on Thursday before crashing into the front yard of a house.

Officers attached to Wagga Traffic and Highway Patrol spotted a silver Holden Commodore sedan, with no number plates, leave the driveway of a Bardia Street house about 1pm.
Police claim a 17-year-old was behind the wheel of the vehicle as it reached an estimated speed of 140 to 150km/h in a 50km/h zone as it headed in an easterly direction along Bardia Street.
Crime manager Detective Inspector Darren Cloake said there had been numerous complaints about the vehicle being driven in a similar manner during the past week.
Police were attempting to stop the vehicle when the driver lost control at the intersection of Bardia Street and Tarakan Avenue and crashed into the front yard of a house.
The teenager and his 11-year-old brother were arrested at the scene.
A 16-year-old passenger fled on foot, but was apprehended in a nearby street a short time later.
The driver was arrested and taken to Wagga police station, where checks revealed he had never held a driver's licence and the car was unregistered and uninsured.
He was charged with unlicensed driver never held licence; driving an unregistered vehicle on road; driving an uninsured vehicle on the road; driving vehicle with unpaid road tax; driving in a manner/speed dangerous; exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h; negligent driving; and breach of bail - not to occupy the drivers seat of a motor vehicle.
No one was injured in the crash.
