A DOMINANT second half to yesterday's NSW PSSA Girl's Touch Championships handed Sydney North its second title in three years.
Having cruised through the round series and semi finals undefeated, Sydney North went up against 2013 runner-up Polding in the decider at Jubilee Park.
Nothing could separate the teams early on and the scoreboard was locked at 1-all at half time.
But it was all one way traffic after the break as Sydney North ran in three unanswered tries and had at least two more disallowed.
Sydney North won the final 4-1 and cheers erupted when the siren blew to signal the end of the tournament.
Winning team manager Simone Champion was rapt to regain the crown.
"Absolutely exciting, a fantastic effort by the girls," Champion said.
"Certainly I knew the skills of the girls and I thought we had the chance to win it as long as we played our game.
"My girls proved that their skills and ability were above all the rest."
Sydney North last won the girl's state touch title in 2012, and drew with old rival MacKillop for the spoils in 2009.
Sydney North had enjoyed a big start to this year's tournament and began the third day of competition by thumping Western 10-0, then rolled Hunter 3-1 in the semi final to qualify for the decider.
Champion later admitted she couldn't single out any of her players.
"It's a hard one to call, as a team they were all fairly impressive," she said.
"That's a really hard question, as a whole team they all played their role very well, so it was a big team effort."
While Champion couldn't split her team, the NSW PSSA selectors had better luck when picking the state representative squad.
Four Sydney North players made the cut for the 12-girl squad, as well as three MacKillop players from various Wagga schools.
More than 300 players, parents and officials converged on Wagga for three days of action.
Carnival manager Rhiannon Dolahenty was pleased to report the tournament went off without a hitch.
"It's run really smoothly, we've been so lucky with the weather," she said.
"The standard of all the girls was phenomenal and it made it really hard for the selectors to pick the team."
