COLEAMBALLY midfielder Drew Kenna believes last weekend's big loss to East Wagga-Kooringal was just the "wake up call" the Blues needed on the eve of the finals series.
It was a costly slip up for Coleambally with the 57-point loss costing the Blues the minor premiership and a week off in the opening week of finals.
The loss slipped Coleambally into second spot and the Blues will now take on the Hawks for a second straight week in Saturday's qualifying final at Marrar's Langtry Oval.
Kenna, the inaugural winner of Farrer League's player of the year award, is confident Coleambally can turn the tables on the Hawks.
"There's no doubt we're a chance," Kenna said.
"If we bring our A game we're a chance of beating anyone in the comp I think.
"Our form over the last couple of months has proven that, especially the day we beat East Wagga by 50 points at Coly.
"There is no doubt if both teams play their best it should be a good game of footy."
Coleambally won seven straight before the final round loss to EWK.
Kenna believes it was purely a work rate issue.
"We've all got to work a bit harder," he said.
"Our work rate was down a fair bit on the weekend and a bit of laziness crept in.
"It was the wake up call we needed, better off having it in the last round than in a couple of weeks time."
Kenna, who finished second in Coleambally's best and fairest, has been the subject of some close attention in recent weeks.
His hot form earlier in the year has meant opposition teams have opted to tag him over the last few rounds of the season.
Kenna admitted he has to rise to the occasion now finals have arrived.
"I've copped a fair bit of attention over the last month," he said.
"I've got to try and shake that over the next couple of weeks and finish the year off."
The winner of Saturday's contest will take on minor premier Temora in the second semi-final at Maher Oval on Saturday week.
The loser will take on the winner of Marrar and North Wagga.
