Paramedics were called to Hudson Street about 12.25pm following reports a motorbike had hit a tree, an Ambulance NSW spokesman said.
It is understood the accident happened in the nearby state forest.
The spokesman said the rider - aged in his late teens or early 20s - was seriously injured and sustained multiple fractures to his arms, legs and shoulder.
He was stabilised by paramedics and taken to Tumut Airport, where he was loaded into an ambulance rescue helicopter.
The spokesman was unable to say where the patient was being taken.
Police are investigating.
