FARRER League premiership contender Temora has made a shock move to drop star import Matt Wallis for apparent form issues on the eve of finals.
A week after the Kangaroos were handed a 10-goal defeat at the hands of East Wagga-Kooringal, Wallis has been punted from the team ahead of today's round 14 meet with Charles Sturt University.
Wallis kicked one goal as the Hawks kept Temora to its lowest score of the season.
He is, however, considered one of classiest players in the competition, having returned 42 goals in 12 appearances for the club since being picked up from South Australia.
Temora coach Mark Kruger yesterday explained the reason behind dropping one of the club's most high-profile players.
"There's a couple of things he needs to work on and we're giving him a chance to work on them in reserve grade this week," Kruger said.
"If he can get those couple of things right then he should be back in first grade next week."
In another shock selection, Temora has named Sam Fisher to play reserve grade just days after telling The Daily Advertiser he won't be back this season.
Fisher is still considering having surgery on a damaged ligament in his foot, but will take the brave move of playing today to gauge if he can run out the year.
"If Sam can get through the game he could be back in first grade next week," Kruger said.
Meantime, Kruger has sent a message to other Riverina clubs that he isn't "on the market".
Kruger yesterday announced he has no plans to coach or play at any RFL or Farrer League club other than Temora.
"If I stay around here I'll be at Temora and no where else," Kruger said.
"I have no interest in coaching an RFL club or any other Farrer League club."
Kruger has coached Temora to two consecutive premierships and is in the mix to make it three from three.
He is waiting until the end of the 2014 season before deciding whether he will remain in Temora or move home to South Australia.
