KILDARE Catholic College's open girls team are off to the state final of the Giants Cup competition after taking all before them in Wagga yesterday.
Four divisions of the Giants Cup met in Wagga yesterday for the Southern NSW regional finals.
The spoils were shared with two wins to Albury schools, one to Kildare and another to Leeton's St Francis College.
Kildare Catholic College proved dominant in the open girls division, winning all their games.
It, along with yesterday's other winners, will progress to the Giants Cup state final on August 18 at Blacktown.
Southern NSW AFL development manager Marc Geppert spent the day at Bolton Park and was impressed with Kildare's performance.
"They were very good and it was actually a pretty physical type of footy actually," Geppert said.
"There was only a couple of minor injuries which was a great result, considering how hard they go in.
"Kildare were quite dominant in the opens girls and I think they will be competitive at the next level."
Geppert said it was good to see the divisional winners spread across the region.
"The good thing about it was that we had winners from Wagga, Albury and the MIA," he said.
"There was a good spread of winners.
"Traditionally the Southern NSW winners normally go pretty well at the next level as well."
