THE Riverina Anglican College maintained its perfect start to the Creed Shield following a 1-0 win over Kildare Catholic College on Tuesday night.
After winning the first two games of the competition, TRAC managed to hold its slim margin to top a difficult pool A.
Labelled as the team to beat this year by Mater Dei coach Nathan Carroll, TRAC coach Colin Wright believes his team has plenty of work to do as the competition moves into the finals.
"We've been pushed in the last two games and certainly haven't been dominant on the scoreboard," Wright said.
"That's probably a bit of a concern for us going into the next games."
Starting the competition well with a 3-0 win over Mater Dei last week, TRAC were able to come through with a 1-0 win over Wagga High on Monday night.
TRAC has had plenty of time with the ball and opportunities to score, but hasn't being able to find the back of the net very often.
"I'm happy to have gotten away with being undefeated in the pool rounds and we haven't conceded a goal yet," Wright said.
"Through the midfield we've done reasonably well, but it's a little disappointing we haven't got more in the net."
Mount Austin High will be TRAC's semi-final opponents on Monday.
Wright is tossing up whether to make changes to the team's pattern to find some more goals as the competition comes down to the pointy end.
Meanwhile, Wagga High scrapped through to the semi-finals on goal difference after scoring a 1-all draw with Mater Dei Catholic College on Tuesday.
Matt Collins scored the opener for Mater Dei before Troy Mattingly levelled things up from the penalty spot.
With an inferior goal difference Mater Dei worked hard to get the much needed goal, and even pushed their goalkeeper up the pitch but couldn't come up with the winner.
Both teams scored four goals in the competition, but Wagga High conceded two goals to Mater Dei's five to book a place in the semi-finals.
Wagga High will play Kooringal High in the other semi-final after Kooringal scored a 4-0 win over Wagga Christian College.
Mater Dei will play Kildare in the play-off for fifth on Monday.
