Wagga police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a collision between a prime mover and a tip-truck that killed one man and hospitalised two people on the Coolamon Road.

Two people were trapped when the two heavy vehicles collided on Houlaghans Creek Bridge near Downside, north of Wagga, around 7.20pm on Tuesday.
A 38-year-old male passenger of the tip-truck died at the scene.
Two more people - the 16-year-old female L-plater driver and a 16-year-old male passenger - were taken to Wagga Base Hospital in a serious condition and airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition, respectively.
The 28-year-old driver of the prime mover, which was carrying sheep at the time of the crash, was taken to hospital for blood tests. He was not injured in the crash.
Traffic was diverted for a number of hours as the road was closed for police to commence investigations.
TUESDAY
9.36pm: Police have confirmed that one person has died in the accident.
The collision occurred on the Houlaghans Creek bridge near Downside.
Two people are trapped within the vehicle, with the VRA and Turvey Park firefighters working to free them.
Detectives are in transit from Albury to assist Wagga police officers with the investigation.
None of the sheep being transported by the truck are reported to be harmed.
8.10pm: Emergencies service personnel are on the scene of an accident on the Coolamon Road near Boorooma.
The accident is believed to have involved a ute and a livestock truck and occurred at approximately 7.23pm.
Initial reports indicate a number of people are trapped at the scene, with the Volunteer Rescue Association dispatched to assist.
The road has been blocked in both directions, with police putting two diversions in place through Marrar, Old Junee and Collingullie.
Police have established a crime scene at the site of the accident.
