ACTION is heating up at the Wagga Rules Club, with the club and its players reaching new horizons.
Teams and individuals have recorded unprecedented success this year and the club will soon be put further on the bowls map.
The Rules Club will host the NSW Combined High Schools carnival next month.
Bowls co-ordinator David Ferguson was thrilled with how the club has been raising its standards and bringing large events to Wagga.
"It's a good thing for the club and it's something we strive to do," Ferguson said.
"About two years ago we came up with a mission statement to try and improve ourselves, get our names statewide and lift the profile of the club.
"We are definitely doing that which is great and we are introducing some new talent and it's also the bowlers that were already here lift to another level."
Ferguson is looking forward to some more talented youngsters stepping on the Rules Club greens on August 5-7.
Eighty school students will be competing and Ferguson is expecting around 100 spectators.
"It's definitely a big thing for us to have on," Ferguson said.
"It's probably some of the best young talent, not only in the state, but the country."
Talented Wagga teen Isaac Rayner won't be competing, but he's still been having a busy time with the sport.
Rayner made his state debut against Queensland last month and is just back from competing in the state junior pairs.
Competing best 16 teams in the state, Rayner and Luke Helson couldn't keep their winning streak alive against the Illawarra pair Brayden Gabbie and Dylan Skinner in the semi-finals.
Following the state pairs success, Rayner has been selected to play in the Australian junior championships at Darwin on September 29 - October 2.
The Rules Club has also been enjoying unprecedented success with its pennants teams.
In a first for the club three teams have won their way through to the state pennant final on August 9-11.
After coming through the district and zone levels the Grade 1 team will travel to Belrose and Forestville RSL Bowling Clubs and will face Kingscliff, Taren Point and Warilla.
Grade 6 will travel to Ballina and has drawn to play against Trangie, St Johns Park and Murrurundi while Grade 7 will play at the Sylvania and Engadine Bowling Clubs with Walgett, St Johns Park and Cronulla in its section.
