WAGGA will take a five-pronged attack into today's Waratah Junior League southern division semi-finals in the Illawarra tomorrow.
Such is the strength of Wagga's basketball, only two of the junior representative teams failed to qualified for the finals.
The under 14, 16 and 18 girls and under 14 and 16 boys teams will all take to the court and Wagga junior representative director Juanita Bailey is expecting to come home with some good results.
"Last year our 12 girls won and are in the 14s so they are bottom age so I don't know how they will go," Bailey said.
"The 16 girls are top aged and finished second in the pool round and are a good chance, while the 18 girls finished first so hopefully we should come home with some titles."
The under 16 and 18 girls teams and the under 12 boys team have only lost one game each this season while the under 16 boys have fallen twice this season.
The under 14 girls have played 12 games for three losses, but Bailey said after a slow start the girls had found form at the right end of the year.
Currently ranked second the under 14 girls will play Batemans Bay today.
Bailey is expecting a tough clash between Wagga and Albury in the under 16 girls, with both teams earning a tight win each this season.
In what will be a busy weekend all teams will play in the semi-final before getting the chance to progress to the grand finals to be held on Sunday.
All of the Wagga teams finished in the top two, so will get a second chance to make the grand final in the preliminary final, if all doesn't go to plan in the first game.
"It would be nice to win that first game as you don't have to play until the next day, " Bailey said.
"If you lose the first game you have to back up and play again that night against the winner of the other semi."
Any teams that come away with titles will them play in the State Cup next month.
