Wagga police executed a search warrant at the Poulton Street address about 1.50pm on Thursday and discovered the tin, a steroid and drugs inside.
Crime manager Detective Inspector Darren Cloake said a small bottle containing about 25ml of Dianabol liquid, a steroid, was found in an iPhone box on the TV cabinet.
A Queensland Flood Relief Appeal donation tin - which police believe was stolen from South City - was also found, along with a bag containing three small resealable bags of 22 tablets and a wallet containing two different IDs.
Police believe the tablets are ecstasy, with a total weight of 11 grams.
Officers described house as being in "very poor condition" and Inspector Cloake said relevant Department of Family and Community Services notifications have been submitted.
He said the house had a infestation of cockroaches, mainly in the kitchen, and a mice nest in the linen closet.
All items seized will be sent for fingerprint and DNA analysis in an attempt to determine an offender.
