TEMORA coach Michael Henderson hasn't given up on playing finals footy yet.
The Dragons have failed to fire on a number of occasions this season, but the former NRL star believes finals aren't out of reach.
Temora's four wins places them third last, two wins plus a hefty percentage outside of the top five, but with a favourable draw Henderson remains defiant.
"If we win five from five we can make the semi-finals," Henderson said.
"We are four points out at the moment and we look at the draw and think we can win all five games.
"It's a matter of taking it one game at a time, but if you don't think you can win you might as well not be going out there to play."
Temora has Tumbarumba (away), Young (home), Kangaroos (away), Junee (home), the bye and Brothers (away) in the run into the finals, but hasn't recorded a win since beating Tumut by four points last month.
The Dragons have had a horror three weeks, well beaten by Gundagai, Southcity and Albury.
Barring the 44-0 thumping by the Tigers, Henderson believes his team managed to compete with the top teams.
Leading the Thunder 16-4 during the first half, Temora were level at the break before Albury clicked into another gear.
Temora let in 56 unanswered points in the second half, but Henderson thought the first half performance was the Dragons best this season.
"We didn't get the result last week and Albury touched us up, but our first half was probably the best half of footy we've played all year," he said.
"We can take some confidence out of that and if we can put in the full 80 minutes of footy we will give ourselves every chance to play well."
Labelling the clash against Tumbarumba as a "must win game", Henderson is looking for his team to stick to the game plan on Sunday.
The Greens went down by 10 points when the two teams meet in Temora earlier this season, but the 30-year-old is expecting a tougher clash in the mountains.
"We are an improved side on what we where in round one and we will be going up there looking for a win," he said.
"We have some success in the first round, but they are a much tougher side up in the Tumba."
Boasting a young side, Temora have three under 18s - Hayden Philp, Liam Martin and Grant Hughes - in the team, something Henderson believes is a good sign for the future.
Braiden Gillies will return to the team at halfback after missing the Albury game through illness.
