ON FACE value Griffith's 39-17 win over Tumut was another easy victory for the Blacks, but scorelines can be deceiving.
With three minutes to go Griffith were under the pump, down a man and with Tumut inside its 22.
However, the Bulls couldn't win a lineout and Blacks struck back.
Marching down the field Dan Rawaqa kicked a penalty goal before Max Ravouvou scored a late double to see the score blow out.
The win, the Blacks fourth straight, see them jump the Bulls and move into fourth place.
It's a position coach Seru Rogo wants his up and down team to stay in.
"It's our second win after the split and its good to have the two wins," Rogo said.
"We have to keep going from here.
"We knew Tumut were going to come out hard, they were on top of us on on table so we prepared hard this week and the boys played."
Resting back line stars Marika Vunibaka, Dan Rawaqa and Vaea Mateo for extended periods of the match paid off for the Blacks.
Vunibaka and Mateo only came on at half time and Rawaqa didn't make his entrance until the final ten minutes, but Griffith had enough in reserve.
Playing in his first game of the year, Rogo, 39, played at five-eighth to help the Blacks to a 17-10 lead at half-time.
"We knew we went in with a totally different team - especially in the back line," Rogo said.
"But the boys put their hands up, did the job and it is a good sign."
Despite a new look back line it didn't take long for the Blacks to click.
Luke Ratu opened the scoring before Justin Shortis hit back for the Bulls with a brilliant individual effort.
Shortis chipped over the top of the Griffith defence before getting his foot to the ball in traffic.
He then followed up the grubber kick and dived on the ball to score under the posts.
Tumut then hit the front courtesy of a penalty by Christino Manuolevao before the Blacks scored the next three tries.
With Griffith second rower Daniel Dowson yellow carded for repeated infringements Manuolevao got the Bulls back to within five points.
Despite having a number of chances Tumut couldn't find crack the Blacks line with the loss seeing them slip out of the top four.
Griffith has another chance to elevate its ladder position, playing hosts to Ag College next Saturday while Tumut will be looking to surprise Albury at Murrayfield.
