TWO people were taken to Wagga Base Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a car lost control and hit a number of trees on the Hume Highway at Kyeamba.

The 75-year-old man driving the car was trapped in the vehicle for about an hour and sustained hip and lower leg fractures after the accident, which occurred near the Tumbarumba Road overpass at about 2pm.
His female passenger injured her knee and reported shoulder and leg pain to paramedics following the crash.
The pair were released from their vehicle by paramedics and members of the Volunteer Rescue Association.
Traffic on the Hume Highway was affected for a little more than an hour as a result of the accident, with the roadway fully reopened by 4pm.
