WAGGA Cricket Association clubs will vote on introducing a drawn match system in the 2014-15 season.
Wagga City put the motion forward at Monday night's annual general meeting and all delegates will take a show of hands at the August meeting.
The Cats want to adopt the Canberra system, where a team can bat for a draw in the second innings of a two-day match.
Under the current Wagga system, the team batting first wins the game if their opponent fails to chase the total set.
Association operations manager Grant Geaghan is doubtful the motion will be passed by clubs.
"Some people said it would be a negative thing to do but others thought it could be quite positive as well," Geaghan said.
"It can be quite good cricket to watch when a team is trying to hold on for a draw.
"I don't know if it will go through though."
The association is also tinkering with its bonus points system for the looming season.
The by-laws will be changed to entice clubs to play out the full 160 overs a two-day match in pursuit of extra points in a team's second innings.

"Instead of playing for time on a Sunday there's incentive there to play for extra bonus points," Geaghan said.
"Instead of packing it in early on Sunday teams might actually want to stay out there and bat on."
The association is also expected to finalise its 2014-15 draw at the August meeting, which Geaghan is currently in the process of completing.
Association president Eric Koetz does not believe the Sheffield Shield game in February will impact the draw drastically, given it is scheduled to be played from Sunday the 15th through to Wednesday.
Koetz will, however, work to ensure no representative cricket games are scheduled to be played on that Sunday.
He will advise the Riverina Cricket Council to issue a general bye for all O'Farrell Cup and Stribley Shield games that weekend.
"You would expect a bigger crowd at the Shield game on the Sunday so we don't want to detract from that by playing any rep cricket the same day," Koetz said.
Koetz says the Wagga association will also need to consider the ICC World Cup dates when finalising the local season draw.
No changes were made to the association committee at Monday's meeting, with Koetz, Geaghan, Owen Thompson, Ben Whitby and Shaun Perry all retaining their positions.
