The robbery came just 24 hours after a Caltex service station on Fitzmaurice Street was held up at knifepoint, with police still on the hunt for the assailant in that incident.
Around 12.45am on Wednesday, a man described by police as being of caucasian appearance with blond hair, in his early 20s and of a large build, entered the Shell service station armed with a cricket bat.
The man demanded money from the service station attendant before leaving with a small sum of cash.
Police are continuing their investigations, reviewing CCTV footage and working to obtain fingerprints in their hunt for the perpetrator.
Wagga police Inspector Peter Robertson said police did not believe the two armed robberies this week were linked.
"I don't think there's anything to tie the two together," he said.
Just two months ago, on February 22, a man wielding a knife robbed the same Bourke Street service station, also escaping with a small amount of money.
