WAGGA trainer Rod Oakman has had the luck of the draw ahead of the Bill Jolley Memorial Grade 4-5 Final (400m) on Friday.
Oakman has come up with the prized number one box with Fast Chloe May while her kennel mate will start beside her in Uno Doc.
Uno Doc won his heat at Sunday's dual code meeting on Sunday to qualify for the final while Fast Chloe May finish 1½ lengths off Apidra's Power in her heat.
Oakman believes Fast Chloe May is more suited to her box in what he described as a hard race to win.
"It suits Fast Chloe May who is drawn pretty well while the other dog Uno Doc is a slow beginner and a wide rider," Oakman said
"Uno Doc normally moves up the track so she will have plenty of room if she's good enough."
Oakman rated the unbeaten Mini Pig as the dog to chase down, but also likes the chances of Peter French's runner Sunlit Babe.
"Mini Pig will be very hard to beat and is a good little dog but Fast Chloe May is boxed well and Sunlit Babe is boxed well (in eight) and has to be a chance," Oakman said.
"It is sort of the young guns up against the old veterans with Fast Chloe May, Wyndham Rocky and Sunlit Babe all over four years old and you've got the younger dogs Uno Doc, Apidra's Power, Motango, Mini Pig and Our Mantra so it will be a great race."
Oakman was very happy with Fast Chloe May's performance in the heats but despite winning thought Uno Doc was lucky to get the win over Our Mantra.
The two Oakman runners have the two best times over the track and distance with Fast Chloe May's best time 23.10 seconds but Oakman doesn't believe that will make too much of a difference.
"There is nothing between the whole field and it will be a very hard race," Oakman said.
"Whatever has the luck will win the race."
Oakman has three other runners on the Anzac Day program and believes last start winner Uno Ivy will again be hard to top.
The seven-race card begins at 5.36pm with the Bill Jolley Memorial Final the last race at 7.34pm.
