The Magpies and Marrar have been playing for the trophy - an old Anzac shell - since the Bombers introduced the concept six years ago.
The Farrer League game is meant to coincide with the AFL's traditional April 25 fixture between Essendon and Collingwood.
Last year it was played on April 19, and this year will be played on April 24.
Pieper yesterday reignited the debate about moving the game to a day-time fixture on April 25.
He believes the Farrer League should be involved in Wagga's annual Anzac Day double-header featuring an RFL and a Group Nine game at Robertson Oval.
"It's just disappointing it's not played on Anzac Day," Pieper said.
"Marrar went to the trouble of organising the game five or six years ago and they've had very little help from the league.
"It would get a massive crowd.
"They have Gullie (Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka) and (Wagga) Tigers playing on Anzac Day, and a rugby league game, why not play this one on Anzac Day."
TRYC has had the better of Marrar in the Anzac Challenge over the years and will be out to chalk up another win when they step onto Robertson Oval on Thursday night.

- Dave Pieper
Pieper says it's a game the club looks forward to every season.
"We love it, Marrar's done really well with it," he said.
"It's a good concept and we've been pretty successful in it over the past few years."
The Magpies will, however, need to improve on its round one showing if it wants to extend its streak against the Bombers.
They went down by 44 points to a hot Northern Jets outfit as Marrar snuck home to beat Coleambally.
TRYC will also lose star utility Dale Hugo through suspension.
Pieper knows Marrar will be tough but believes now is the best time to attack the Bombers.
"Marrar has a lot of new guys and it would be good to get them early while they're still gelling as a team," he said.
"We probably lacked a bit of pace against the Jets so we will try to bring in a running player."
Jake Webster and Pete McRorie are two players in line to be promoted from reserve grade, while Magpies recruit Bryan van Etten is expected to make his debut for the club as a key defender.
Both Marrar and TRYC will release their teams and emergencies tomorrow.
