The league is due to travel to Wangaratta to take on the Ovens and King League as part of AFL Riverina's push into the Victorian representative season.
Farrer League players have, in the past, been accused of taking a "relaxed" approach to representative duties and as a result the team generally doesn't line up as strongly as it could.
Hofert is urging them to make the commitment this year.
"Now that we are going down to Victoria I would hope, for their own exposure and for the exposure of the league, that all the boys get around it," Hofert said.
"A few guys didn't make themselves available last year but indicated they will this year, so I hope they do.
"If everyone makes themselves available we should have a good squad of players to choose from."
Hofert has been appointed sole coach of the team this season after sharing the duties with Gerald Pieper in 2013.
"Now that we are going down to Victoria I would hope, for their own exposure and for the exposure of the league, that all the boys get around it,"

Pieper will now act as chairman of selectors and is joined by Wayne Gardiner (Marrar), Buster Fairman (Northern Jets) and Chris Jackson (EWK) on the panel.
A squad of players will be selected on Sunday week following the second round of games.
Hofert is confident two weeks is enough time to pick a squad.
"Between us we managed to get around to all four games on Saturday, and we will have someone at every game next week as well," he said.
"With the time restraints we basically had to pick a squad after round two.
"If need be we can always add players."
Hofert counted eight players who represented the league last year and have since left the competition, including key forwards Mitch Ward, Luke Webb, John Hoey and ruckman Nick Hull.
But with an influx of talent over the off-season and the commitment of players, he believes the 2014 team has the potential to be much stronger.
