The attack occured on March 21 in Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah, which also saw Palestinian villagers injured when rubber bullets were fired upon them.
The IDF's actions saw Mr Goodlass, the current Riverina Greens secretary, rendered "totally helpless" according to his Twitter account.
"I was tear gas attacked by Israel army in West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, rendered totally helpless, rescued by Freedom Bus friends," he tweeted on March 21.
Greens NSW Senator Lee Rhiannon has condemned the attack.
"The violence of the IDF towards Ray Goodlass and his colleagues is disturbing and should be widely condemned," she said.
"Ray told me how the tear gas attack rendered him totally incapacitated.
"In an email he said - 'I couldn't see as my eyes were full of tears, my lungs heart like hell. I really was in a very painful limbo, quite lost and just staggering around'."
Mr Goodlass, who resigned from Wagga City Council in 2012 citing health issues, is in Palestine as part of the Freedom Ride, an initiative of the Freedom Theatre which is a partnership of Palestinian, Israeli and international theatre workers and activists.
