The Bombers yesterday announced Nathan Smith, Anthony Raufers, Luke Hillier, Luke Aylett and Simon Nalder as their latest acquisitions.
Smith joins the club with a background of playing rugby league with Junee in Group Nine.
He has followed in his brother Jason's footsteps, who ditched league for Australian football a few years back and enjoyed a breakout season with The Rock-Yerong Creek in 2013.
Marrar coach Clint Taylor says Smith should be capable of playing key position back or forward, and might even add an option in the ruck.
He was excited to welcome Smith aboard.
"Smithy hasn't played any Aussie rules in the past but he is good mates with (Andrew Higginson) and (Daniel Burkinshaw) so they got him out here," Taylor said.
"He's really keen, he trained well at our first run on Tuesday so it looks like he will be a good pick-up.
"I'm not sure where we will play him yet but he's a good tall option.
"We'll develop his skills a bit over pre-season and he might even be a good tall forward for us."
Raufers played first grade at East Wagga-Kooringal and had a season with Southcoast Sea Hawks last year.
Hillier has recently moved to Wagga from Cobar, having previously represented the Northern Riverina League and being runner-up club best and fairest last season from just nine games.
He is a tall defender-midfielder.
Aylett and Nalder join the Bombers from rival Farrer League club Charles Sturt University.
Aylett, the brother of listed Essendon player Kurt, has had an interrupted couple of years with injury but has previously been picked in the Farrer representative squad.
Taylor is stoked to add all five players to the roster.
"They look like they should all be handy first graders," he said.
"The main thing is they provide depth which is something we probably lacked last year."
Ben Carroll and Scott Raufers have also joined the handful of players returning to Marrar from Upper Murray club Tumbarumba.
Taylor is happy with his list but is on the lookout for another key forward before the season kicks off on April 12.
The Bombers are hoping to get two trial games in between now and then, as well as the regular intra-club hit out.
