Wagga's Local Court magistrate, Michael Antrum, selected one for him today - do something about his drug problem.
"You should make a New Year's resolution to make it come to an end," Mr Antrum told 40-year-old Eden in sentencing remarks.
Eden pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of a drug at Forest Hill on July 4.
In fact, Eden had a cocktail of drugs in his bloodstream: methadone and the sedatives diazepam, nordiazepam and alprazolam.
The drugs were revealed in a blood sample taken after Eden crashed a Magna sedan into the back of a Corolla.
Before the crash, near Elizabeth Avenue, the driver of the Corolla had seen Eden weaving across the road and speeding up and slowing down.
Police called to the crash saw that Eden's eyes were bloodshot and glazed, he appeared fatigued, his speech was slurred and he could not put a sentence together.
He passed a breath test for alcohol, but failed a sobriety test when he could not walk in a straight line and count to 10.
Eden also appeared to be falling asleep while standing, police told the court.
Mr Antrum gave Eden a seven-month jail sentence, but suspended it on the condition that Eden be of good behaviour for that time.
Eden was also disqualified from driving for two years.
