The amphitheatre was a co-ordinated project between KPS, the Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association and TAFE NSW Riverina Institute.
Principal Sally Davidson commended the work completed by all three groups, speaking about the importance of partnerships within the school community.
“We’ve got a close-knit school and we support each other,” Ms Davidson said.
“This is an example of the school community coming together for the benefit of our students – which is really important.”
The amphitheatre took six months to build at a cost of $15,000.
P&C president Jo Hughes, who helped fund-raise for the project through the KPS fete, said the labour of TAFE Riverina Institute landscaping students was invaluable.
“It made the project a lot more achievable,” Ms Hughes said.
The near 30-minute ceremony coincided with a classroom open day and guests were treated to an instrumental version of Lady Gaga hit Just Dance by the school band.
