The final cheques were handed over to the 12 charities involved at the William Farrer Hotel last Wednesday.
Event organisers Garry Salvestro, Troy Fisher and Duncan Potts were ecstatic with the final figure raised, praising the efforts of show contestants and helpers for playing a big part in generating such a large amount of donations.
Wagga Takes Two saw 12 of the city’s best entertainers team up with 12 local celebrities, together with a support cast and crew of more than 100 people, for three nights of entertainment at the Mater Dei Primary School Hall.
The event raised money for the Wagga Prostate Cancer Support Group, headspace, Wagga Men’s Shed, Aime St Clair Melanoma Trust, Little Paths, Adventure for Axl, Women’s Refuge and Edel Quinn Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, Country Hope, Relay for Life and Legacy.
Now in its seventh year, the event has raised more than $600,000 for numerous local charities.
