THE driver of a semi-trailer made a daring escape yesterday when he jumped to safety from his burning vehicle after it caught alight while travelling on Goldfields Way.

The incident happened about 3pm, 20 kilometres south of Temora.
The driver of the truck which was hauling plywood reportedly could smell smoke before making his quick exit.
The Rural Fire Service responded to the blaze.
Traffic was affected in both directions.
The truck was destroyed and needed to be towed from the scene.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
