The Bombers have already enticed tough onballer Andrew Higginson back to the club as well as tall ruckman Jake Robinson, who have joined Taylor in Marrar’s recruiting pool.
The club has not yet lost anyone from its 2012 list and Taylor hopes to add a couple more before beginning pre-season on January 22.
“We’re still talking to a few and just waiting to hear back from guys,” Taylor said yesterday. “There’s a few guys we’re looking at just to fill up spots.
“Probably a key forward is the main role we would like to fill, and possibly another midfielder.
“We’re pretty happy with what we’ve got so far.”
Higginson was part of a classy Marrar midfield when the Bombers made the Farrer League grand final in 2011 and will slot straight back in, joining the likes of Trent Balding, Shannon Williams, Bryce Graetz and Mitch Taylor in the middle.
Williams was virtually Marrar’s only ruckman this year but will be joined by Robinson in 2013.
Robinson rucked for East Wagga-Kooringal last year but sat out most of the 2012 season.
He is looking to reignite his football career at the Bombers and Taylor says he will complement Williams perfectly.
“We were rapt to get Robbo, he will be a big asset for us” he said.
“He will help Slowy (Williams) out a lot.
“(Williams) had a massive workload this year by himself and Jake should fit into the team nicely.”
Marrar made the preliminary final this year under coach Danny Malone and Taylor has plans to go one better next season.
The Bombers will begin fitness training on January 22.
