EAST Wagga-Kooringal has awoken from its Farrer League off-season slumber in announcing three good signings.
Hawks coach Chris Jackson yesterday spilled the beans on the signatures of Craig Pullen, Michael O'Dea and Matt Wiley who have agreed to terms with the club.
Pullen, 27, and O'Dea, 20, come from Wagga Tigers and played in the Riverina Football League reserve grade grand final at Narrandera in September, winning a premiership with the club.
Wiley played last season at South Croydon and all three onballers work at Wagga's RAAF base.
The Hawks have so far lost midfielders Mark Adams, Dale Cameron and Chris Pedler for next year and Jackson says the three newcomers will directly fill those voids.
"We pretty much went after some new onballers and ended up getting three onballers," Jackson said.
"All three are pretty handy footballers too so it's good to get them.
"They are quality, we needed players in there (midfield) to fill the shoes of a couple of those guys who are leaving.
"And all three are quality people, good blokes, so they will help the club in the direction we want to go on and off the field."
Adams (North Wagga), Cameron (Turvey Park) and Pedler (Tumbarumba) have all defected since the end of the 2012 season but Jackson is confident he has replaced them with the three signings.
Pullen will act as fitness coach for EWK and will take a role in the club's leadership group.
Jackson said he was also expecting the likes of young talls Josh Hull and Sam Morris to enjoy a full pre-season after missing most of last season through injury.
"We should be getting a few blokes back which will be handy," he said.
"We are definitely looking for more players too, so hopefully we can get a couple more and begin pre-season with a full squad."
Meanwhile TRYC has pulled off a big off-season signing by snagging former junior Tom Yates from O&M club Albury Tigers.
Yates played in the Magpies' 2006 premiership-winning team as a teenager and won another senior premiership with the Tigers in 2011.
He joins former Narrandera onballer Tim Mathieson at TRYC.
