The investigation surrounds the alleged involvement of a spectator after players became involved in the scuffle after the half-time siren at Kindra Park.
At this stage, the identity of the spectator is unknown.
Only one official report was filed following the heated clash with Coolamon’s centre half-back Connor Neyland cited for striking.
The field umpires have filed a report with AFL Riverina, but a more detailed summary has been requested.
Explanations are also expected to be requested from both clubs.
AFL Riverina football operations manager Shane Buchanan said the involvement of people on the sidelines was a huge worry.
“Our biggest concern is the alleged involvement of a spectator,” he said.
“We need to find the true identity and level of involvement ... any penalties would depend on who the person is, whether they are a registered player or a club supporter.
“There is the potential for the club is be fined or put on good behaviour bonds, I’m not saying it will happen this time, but it has been done in the past.”
It is believed the brawl began after wrestling between Coolamon’s Luke Maloney and Wagga Tigers Jackson Kew.
Due to the timing of the of the incident, the umpires were unable to use yellow or red cards, but did book Neyland.
Kew is a former Coolamon junior while Neyland is a former Wagga Tigers player.
Buchanan said the fight was a disappointing way for the weekend to be remembered.
“There’s so many good things going on and this is a disappointing distraction,” he said.
“We expect to have more information later this week and be able to get a clearer picture of what happened.”
