28 Oct, 2009 01:00 AM
ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA star Matt Cooper will be in Wagga tomorrow to help reward sporting and community clubs from across the region.

The dynamic Dragons centre has been invited to the city to congratulate 15 clubs which have gained equipment under the Telstra Assistance Fund.

Clubs from as far away as Hillston and Wodonga will receive grants from the Telstra Assistance Fund.

The scheme has already provided equipment worth $6 million to 5000 sporting and community clubs in Australia in the past six years.

Cooper will be the big attraction at the presentation at Equex Centre tomorrow from 3pm to 5pm.

Among the beneficiaries will be Culcairn Australian Football Club, Junee and Gundagai rugby league clubs and Riverina Lions women's Australian football team.

The 15 Riverina clubs are among 759 clubs nationally to received new sporting equipment, including footballs, time clocks, swimming pool lane ropes and water bottles.
