A FREAK accident in the barriers yesterday caused a 40-minute delay to Murrumbidgee Turf Club's TAB meeting at Wagga yesterday.
Just as the horses were getting set for the second race on the card, debutant Noversteps reared in the gates and broke a hydraulic pipe on top of the barriers.
Horses for race two were sent back to the race day stalls as work got under way to fix the problem.
Not long afterwards, horses were back out on the track, with all races being pushed back one timeslot for the day.
In a busy day for MTC, drainage works on the course proper started immediately after the last race of the day.
