 Bomb scare at Albury trots

Bomb scare at Albury trots

11 Feb, 2012 07:58 PM
A BOMB scare has caused havoc at Albury's Pacers Cup meeting tonight.

A big crowd at Albury Showground was forced to evacuate shortly before 8.30pm due to a bomb threat.

Patrons were quickly evacuated as police scanned the area for any threats.

The bomb scare caused a long delay to race four and put the rest of the programme in doubt.

The Albury Pacers Cup was set for a 9.29pm start but is now set to run late.

Patrons were allowed to return to the course at about 9pm.

Racecaller Allan Hull said it was one of the most unusual occurances he has ever experienced in almost 40 years of calling.

"It's just not the kind of thing you expect when you go along to enjoy a night at the trots," Hull said.
