DYNAMITE husband-and-wife combination of rugby league star Greg Lynch and leaguetag sensation Leanne Lynch will be out to clinch a rare sporting double at Twickenham on Saturday.

The talented couple are in a unique position, with the pair facing the opportunity to lead Southcity to two Group Nine premierships.

Greg will be out to steer the Bulls to a shock victory over reigning premiers Tumut in the first round of the finals series, while Leanne will be aiming to keep Southcity's Leaguetag premiership aspirations alive with a win over Tumbarumba.

Despite heading into the game as the underdog, Greg is confident the Bulls are capable of a stunning upset.

"It's not going to be a picnic," he said.

"I know we can beat them, we are capable of knocking them off."

Southcity have been hampered in recent weeks by a lacklustre opening to the games.

"We are concentrating on getting straight out of the box. We can't afford to have another slow start and hand Tumut an early lead."

After years of watching Greg playing in the Group Nine competition, Leanne has been able to leave the spectators on the sideline, and join her husband on the field.

Leanne said that leaguetag has given her a new avenue for involvement in her husband's sporting career.

"It is good to be able to get down there and play," she said.

"It has made the football more enjoyable."

Leanne is confident the introduction of the leaguetag competition was a step in the right direction.

"It has involved the girls at the club and has given the sport a more family-orientated culture," she said.

Greg echoed the thoughts of his wife, and was adamant that leaguetag has been great for the club and the competition.

"After years of having Leanne cheer for me, it is nice to return the favour," he said.

"The best part is it involves all the girls at the clubs, the wives, partners and girlfriends."

Southcity finished fourth on the ladder and Tumbarumba scraped into sixth position.

The Bulls will be going in with a huge psychological advantage after knocking off the Greens 24-16 last Saturday.

"We beat them last week, so hopefully we will get them this weekend," she said.

"It gives the girls a bit of confidence."
