HENTY put a huge dent in Walla's Hume League finals aspirations by downing the Hoppers by 63 points at Henty Showground on Saturday.
Heading into the game as rank outsider, Henty dominated the contest from the outset and went on to score a comfortable 18.12 (120) to 8.9 (57) win.
The victory was just Henty's second of the season and the result will have real ramifications on the finals hopes of Walla.
Walla went into the game just two points behind sixth-placed Holbrook but Saturday's loss puts the Hoppers more than a win behind.
Henty led by 23 points at half-time but the Swampies put the result beyond doubt by piling on six goals to Walla's one in the third term.
James McCallum and Grant Gardiner were brilliant in the forward-line and both men booted five goals in the rout.
Midfielders Jay Peace and Simon Hillier were also standouts on the day and they both racked up plenty of the ball and used it well.
Walla was best served by the usual suspects with ruckman Nick Whiterod and captain-coach Luke Kohlhagen easily the best for the Hoppers.
Meantime, Osborne moved into outright first position on the ladder with a massive 93-point mauling of CDHBU at Coreen Sportsground on Saturday.
Gun full-forward Brendon McKelvie kicked seven goals in his second game back from injury while Graham Hart also chimed in with six majors.
Veteran midfielder Kerry Bahr, who only recently signed with the club, was judged best-on-ground after a tireless performance around the ground.
