FARRER League clubs have thrown their wholehearted support behind the "AFL Riverina" competition for 2010.
Similar to the Riverina Football League's meeting on Monday night, Farrer League clubs met on Wednesday night to address AFL's plans for the future.
In stark opposition to neighbouring competition, RFL, Farrer League threw its support behind the concept.
Farrer League clubs voted 5-0 in favour of the new structure, with Rivcoll abstaining from voting.
Farrer League issued a brief statement yesterday, outlining its views.
"The Farrer Football League, in theory, supports the proposed restructure put forward by the NSW-ACT AFL," it read.
"Clubs have some minor issues which will be advised by each individual club with their submissions to the NSW/ACT AFL by Friday July 3.
"The clubs ask that these requests be taken into consideration when finalising the proposed restructure."
Collingullie-A shmont-Kapooka yesterday contacted The Daily Advertiser to throw support behind the league's decision.
CAK captain-coach Shane Lenon was the designated spokesperson, outlining several positives of the new concept.
"The AFL has put a lot of time and effort into coming up with a complete new structure and we see a lot of positives in it," Lenon said.
"The AFL has been canned for a few years for not doing anything and now they've made a decision, people are still against it.
"From our point of view, they've put in a lot of time and effort and come up with some really good ideas."
Meanwhile, Riverina Football League has been granted a two-week extension to today's July 3 deadline for submissions.
RFL clubs voted 7-2 against the concept earlier this week, and will be coming up with its own proposal in the next fortnight.
Hume League clubs also met this week, voting 14-0 against The Rock-Yerong Creek entering the competition.
