SYDNEY Swans coach Paul Roos has revealed he will be sending his three big-gun players - Adam Goodes, Jude Bolton and Brett Kirk - to Narrandera for the final of the NAB Challenge tomorrow week.
The three veteran dynamos will line up amongst a star-studded Swans outfit next Friday night at the Narrandera Sports Ground.
Although the opposition has not yet been decided, Roos said the team is looking forward to the match.
"Absolutely, we always enjoy coming down," said Roos.
"We will be bringing a very good team.
"The players certainly enjoy coming down to the country, we have been there two or three times before and loved it.
"The crowd is always good, they all enjoy their footy and get right into it.
"The ground is always in top condition and all the facilities are good.
"I think we have a pretty good fan base down there, a fair few fans come along and cheer us on."
The final will be Sydney's last hit-out before they take on St Kilda at ANZ Stadium in the opening round of the season on March 27.
They will be using the match to examine player fitness, and iron out the creases before their season campaign.
Speaking to The Daily Advertiser from Swans' headquarters in Sydney yesterday, Roos said he believes they are ready for the start of the season.
"At this stage our preparations are coming along pretty well," he said.
"All the boys are fit and keen to begin the season."
Roos denied the push from emerging club GWS into the Riverina will have an effect on Swans' fan base in the area.
He also said although Swans cannot recruit from the area anymore due to the zoning system, they do not see it as a long-term issue with playing talent.
"That's their area, we have basically got zones," said Roos.
"From a talent point of view it might affect us a bit I guess, but I doubt it will affect our supporter numbers or anything."
Roos said although it was not their decision to include a second NSW team in the AFL, he is not worried it will take anything away from them.
"It was not our decision, it was an AFL decision and we can't really do anything about that.
"When they join the AFL they will still be our opposition, and we will just try to beat them like we do with every other team in the competition."
