Coolamon has not enjoyed a great history in finals in recent times with the Hoppers having just won just one of their past 10 finals appearances.
Easdown’s men come up against September specialist Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka today, which has not lost a final since 2007.
Easdown is confident he has established a team capable of going some way to burying the finals hoodoo.
“Yeah I’m very happy with our team,” Easdown said yesterday.
“We’ve going in with plenty of good midfield rotations with the big ground at Maher Oval.
“Our forward line is the best it’s been all year too and our backline has been our strength all year.
“It’s stayed the same pretty much all year and done the job.
“I’m happy with how we’re going in.”
Coolamon will welcome back Joe Redfern, Greg Aki and Matt Bradley into the team for today’s final. Redfern and Aki were unavailable with representative commitments last weekend, while Bradley has been promoted from reserve grade.
Murray Stevenson is out with a back injury, while Heath Hutcheon was the unlucky one to be dropped.
James McKenzie pulled up sore and was not considered for selection.
Easdown said both were tough calls but said he was not prepared to gamble on injured players.
“I wasn’t going to take in anyone who wasn’t 100 per cent,” Easdown said.
“Murray didn’t come up, which is disappointing but he should be right for the week after.
“He’s played some good footy down back but we can throw Joe down back and Greg can play tall if need be.”
With game day now upon both teams, Easdown hopes his team is ready to go.
“Those first 10 minutes there is going to be a lot of emotion and everything but it’s going to be the first team that can settle and get the first couple of goals because that will put you well on your way,” Easdown said.
Meanwhile, Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka lose Ryan Dean to injury, while Shane Gow has been dropped to reserve grade.
Doug Bruckner, Jimmy Kennedy and Matt Lewington come into the first grade team.
