CONSTRUCTION of Wagga’s fourth McDonald’s restaurant is set to commence early next month.
Demolition of buildings has almost been completed at the site with plans to start construction of the new building on September 1.
The man behind the million dollar-plus project is the franchisee of the existing three outlets – Tony Aichinger.
“Everything is going well at the moment and things are on schedule,” Mr Aichinger said.
“We hope to start construction on
September 1 and have the project completed by December 1.”
The chosen site is behind a Caltex service station just west of the Fernleigh Road intersection with Glenfield Road. It’s planned the restaurant will have 73 seats inside, 37 outside terrace seats and a drive through facility.
“Glenfield Road seemed like a natural location for the restaurant situated on the western side of Willans Hill,” Mr Aichinger said.
“We hope to provide a facility for the community on the south western side of Wagga.
Once the restaurant is up and running Mr Aichinger said in total their workforce in Wagga will be close to 400, with the new store creating around 100 new jobs.
The new restaurant will be complete
with a drive through, McCafe and state-of-the-art playground.”
