Organiser Garry Salvestro estimates this year’s takings for charity will reach around $90,000, higher than last year’s totals.
The sold-out shows saw 12 couples represent a local charity each entertaining the audience with a song performance across two nights.
The couples, made up of a local celebrity and musician, were backed up by junior and senior dance troupes making it a full night of non-stop entertainment.
Performances included a Madonna medley by Josh Bradley and Shelley Melzer, Dare to Dream by Amanda Gleeson and Shanul Sharma, an ABBA classic complete with Eurovision looks by Kim Frazier and Matt Olsen and a Rocky Horror medley by Patrick Kenny and Bill Robertson.
“The great thing about this year’s acts was the variety, not just the ’70s and ’80s songs,” Mr Salvestro said.
“We had Amanda and Shanul with Dare to Dream which is a big opera-style song, to rock classics, ’60s to the ’70s and musical theatre pieces.”
Each night the audience votes on their favourite song and performance by donating money to the respective charity.
The winning couple who raised the most money for their performance was awarded a trophy with Thursday night’s trophy going to Andrew Fitzgerald and Lauren Carlson. The final figure on how much has been raised for the 12 charities will not be known for a few weeks.
The charities are The Leisure Company, Ian Mattingly Tertiary Education Fund, Andrew Cook Fund, Emily Whittaker Support Fund, Little Paths Australia, Cancer Council NSW Relay for Life, Cancer Care Centre Community Trust, Wagga Legacy, Snowy Hydro SouthCare, Riverina Conservatorium of Music, Steve Williams Fund and St Vincent de Paul Wagga Flood Victims.
