CENTRAL Wagga may have been temporarily submerged after a short, sharp deluge late last week but the city's thirstiest corner missed out on a much-needed drenching.
While sections of Wagga were swimming with knee-high water, Lake Albert barely received a drop, the main storm cell completely bypassing the city's south-east.
Friends of the Lake founder Robert Lazzarini was disappointed Mother Nature had failed to boost the lake's meagre water supply.
He said only a very small amount of rain had fallen over the area.
"The rain has done hardly anything at all, it might make a slight difference but we only received about 15mm and that wasn't enough to make a real impact," he said.
Mr Lazzarini said a number of problem areas surrounding the lake were still as parched as ever, unfortunately escaping the rejuvenating rains.
"I had a look today (yesterday) at Crooked Creek and there is not a drop in it," he said.
Mayor of Wagga Kerry Pascoe echoed Mr Lazzarini's disappointment at the lack of rain across Lake Albert.
He said a good fall of rain would have been beneficial and he hoped predicted rain due later this week would have better aim.
"If we had that rain fall in the valley with water running like it was at the rear of Bunnings and in the channels it would have been nice," he said.
