Reverend looking for fencing experts

DO you have experience fencing?

The Riverina Presbytery of the Uniting Church wants you.

The Wagga Uniting Church is searching for residents who are willing to take part in a fencing team to travel to Victoria to help fire-affected farmers re-fence their properties.

Reverend Geoff Flynn, who is one of the organisers of the fencing work parties, said the church was hoping to find a number of people willing to donate their time for two or three days to provide labour.

“We have farmers who are leaders in our church and they thought it was a practical way to help out,” he said.

A fencing team is already heading down to the fire-affected areas this weekend to assess how much work needs to be done and to assess what are the best times for teams to help.

Anyone who registers an expression of interest will be asked to nominate a period of days when they are available to travel to Victoria to assist.

Expressions of interest will also be taken for those who have no fencing experience but are willing to help out.

To register your interest call 6921 4275 or email bushfire.fencing@nsw.uca.org.au.
