PAST families and staff will be heading back to KU Kingfisher Preschool this weekend to help the centre celebrate its 50th birthday.
Director Amber Suffolk said an open day was planned to give people the opportunity to see how much the facility had changed over the years.
"It's for past families and staff to come back and have a look," she said.
"There have been renovations inside with the bathrooms and so on, and then there have been a lot of changes in the yard."
Newspaper clippings and photos from throughout the centre's history will be on display at the open day, while face painting and balloons will keep the kids entertained.
Miss Suffolk said with the centre now having operated for 50 years, a new generation of kids was attending.
"We've got a few kids whose parents and aunties and uncles came here," she said.
The open day will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday at the centre, which is on the corner of Mt Austin Avenue and Bolger Avenue.
Anybody with memorabilia they would like to contribute to the display for the day should contact the preschool.
