What a load of rot.
This climate change nonsense is now totally out of control.
As Sydney radio commentator Alan Jones hammers home every day – it’s a hoax – and indeed he is right.
Now admittedly Jones may be a little biased against the Gillard government, but his underlying message is all too true – plus, he has no end of backers from many sections of the scientific community.
As well as this paper has stated several times before, when the key word was pollution everyone was happy, and everyone was working together to bring it under control.
Then some academic, somewhere, proclaimed it climate change, and all he succeeded in doing was to polarise community thinking.
Really, there is no need for this tax.
While it’s all well and good to try and control carbon emissions from industry, how do you control emissions from bushfires, volcanic ash and even closer to home, farmers burning off?
Quite simply, you can’t.
What governments world wide should do is monitor, and then punish the big polluters if they continually flout the law.
Manufacturers would soon get their act together if they faced heavy fines for polluting their respective countries.
In fact there is no better example than the motor vehicle industry.
Over the past 30 years car companies have cut their pollution levels by more than half, and why? Because they faced stiff penalties if they didn't.
And just to rub salt into the wounds of Wagga ratepayers, we are now paying the same rate of carbon tax as Rio Tinto, Toyota and BHP.
The reason – we have a tip!
For heaven’s sake just what is the federal government thinking?
